I've been admiring your gear porn for a while. I especially love how your Jagmaster project turned out. Would you mind giving me a brief description of how you achieved the gorgeous finish on that? I've also been scoping out those Verellen-modded Jet City Soldanos that pop up on eBay here and there. I'm a bassist, so I was wondering how your experience has been with yours on bass. I know it's only 20 watts, but have you used it in a band situation? How well does it hold up volume-wise? Thanks!
Thanks man! The Telemaster was fun. I hand sanded it for about 2-4 hours using a few different grits of sandpaper, then steel wool. After it was really smooth, I stained it with ebony minwax for 13 minutes before I wiped it away to show the grain. Then I finished it with 7 coats of tru-oil rubbed on to the guitar over a few days.
I’ve had the Verellen Modded Jet City for a while now. I’ve not used it in a band situation but I did use it in my wedding as the DIY DJ booth along with my Traynor which is 200w solid state. With the Traynor on about 3, the Verellen was on about 7-8 to give you a little bit of an idea of volume. Hope that helps!
